June 24 saw Yachting Developments launch their second new build of 2015. RP36, now known as IMK-7, is a fast performance yacht designed by Reichel/Pugh. Due to depart New Zealand in July 2015 she is now undergoing sea and sail trials before handing over to her new owners.
On Thursday 28 May, we were pleased to welcome over 100 marine industry members, Auckland Council officials and friends of the industry to our Hobsonville yard. Adrienne Cooper, CEO of the Hobsonville Land Company, and Don Greenaway from Auckland Council Land Properties were on hand to hear the marine industry discuss the profound effect of a marine hub at Hobsonville.
The NZ Marine Industry Association has worked closely with these organisations to secure the development of a marine employment hub in Hobsonville, including the development of a new
“With Yachting Developments and its new set up in Hobsonville, plus the new launch road, it’s great to see evidence of this long sought-after development underway,” said Peter Busfield, director of NZMarine.
Yachting Developments has had a busy year, most recently with the launch of fast performance race yacht YD37 Anarchy. Guests were able to view the current projects, including the 33.5m Frers superyacht Hull 1012, the refit of Windhaven and a range of commercial and architecture projects.
