YD62 BRISTOLIANPHILIPPE BRIAND 120' SLOOP AWARDS 2009 Winner - ShowBoats International Design Award for Best Sailing Yacht Interior 2009 Winner - ISS Award for Best Sailing Yacht 24m - 44m 2009 Finalist - World Superyacht Awards for Best Sailing Yacht 30m-44m 2009 Finalist - World Superyacht Awards for Technology The 37m (120’) Philippe Briand designed ‘Bristolian’ is sleek in design with a low profile black hull and ultra modern light weight foam cored interior. The vessel boasts an owner’s cabin, and two guest cabins forward, a split level saloon amidships and accommodation for 6-8 crew aft.
New age design features include twin pod helm stations, usually only bassociated with ocean racing catamarans. The pods provide all necessary controls and navigation equipment including direct crew access to the galley and crew quarters eliminating disturbance to the owners’ and guests areas. The foredeck discretely houses a saltwater dip pool designed and manufactured by Yachting Developments. A large hydraulically operated deck hatch swings to port revealing the pool, when the hatch is in position it doubles as a poolside lounger. Bristolian’s hull is made from post cured epoxy Carbon/Eglass high strength foam sandwich construction. Spars are High Modulus carbon fibre including carbon standing rigging. The 34 tonne lifting keel is impressive, reducing draft from a maximum of 5.25m to 3.8m, allowing access to cruising grounds not normally available to a performance sailing yacht of this size. |
